What happens if the dashboard is delayed and I breach “before it updates”?
TL;DR
The dashboard is helpful, but it’s not a time machine. If equity breaches a rule in real time, it counts, even if the dashboard hasn’t refreshed yet.
How it works
- PropXP dashboard updates on average every ~30 minutes.
- Risk limits are equity-based and moment-in-time. If equity prints beyond the threshold, it’s a breach.
Common gotchas
- “But the dashboard still showed I was safe” isn’t a defense; it’s just… latency.
- Breaches often happen on spread spikes / rollover / news (the exact moments dashboards are least useful).
- If you’re trading within a few % of the limit, you’re basically choosing drama. Give yourself a buffer.
Example
Dashboard says you’re down -2.8%. Spread widens, equity hits -3.01% for a second, then recovers. Dashboard updates later and you’re like “wait what?” Remember: the moment-in-time breach is what matters.
