What are the commissions and swaps in PropXP?
TL;DR
PropXP charges $5 per lot round trip on FX and Metals only.
That means:
- $2.50 per lot to open
- $2.50 per lot to close
All other major asset classes are currently commission free:
- Indices: $0
- Commodities: $0
- Equities: $0
- Crypto: $0
Swaps apply according to the symbol and are charged in points. The exact long and short swap values can always be checked in MT5 → Symbol Specifications.
How it works
Commissions by asset class
So if you trade 1 lot of EURUSD, you pay:
- $2.50 when opening the trade
- $2.50 when closing the trade
- total = $5 round trip
Same logic for Metals.
How swaps work
Swaps are the overnight holding charges or credits applied when you keep a position open past rollover.
In PropXP:
- Swap type: in points for everything except crypto, where swap is in percentage terms, using current price
- Swap long: check in MT5 → Symbol Specifications
- Swap short: check in MT5 → Symbol Specifications
Swap multiplier by day, all assets except crypto
The triple swap on Wednesday is the standard rollover adjustment that accounts for the weekend settlement effect.
Swap multiplier by day, crypto only
Where to check the exact swap value
The exact swap for each symbol can vary by instrument, so the correct place to check it is:
MT5 → right click symbol → Specifications
There you will see:
- Swap Long
- Swap Short
- contract details
- other symbol-specific trading conditions
In other words: don’t guess. The platform literally tells you.
Common gotchas
- Commissions affect your equity, so they count toward drawdown just like spreads and swaps do.
- A trade can look fine on paper and still hit your limits faster once commission + spread + swap are included.
- FX and Metals are not commission free. Everything else listed above currently is.
- Wednesday swap is triple (not for crypto), so holding overnight through that rollover can cost more than traders expect.
- Swaps are symbol-specific, so always check MT5 Symbol Specifications instead of assuming two instruments behave the same way.
Example
You open and close 2 lots of EURUSD on the same day.
Your commission is:
- $2.50 × 2 lots = $5 to open
- $2.50 × 2 lots = $5 to close
- total commission = $10 round trip
If you keep the trade overnight, swap may also apply depending on the symbol, direction, and rollover timing.
