Security & compliance
How do I log in to MT5 (server, password, “invalid account” fixes)?
TL;DR
Use the exact server name from your PropXP email/dashboard, and your MT5 account number (login) + MT5 password (not your PropXP portal password). If you get “Invalid account”: it’s almost always the wrong server or wrong password.
How it works
- Get your credentials (email + dashboard “Credentials” section).
- In MT5: File → Login to Trade Account
- Enter: Login (account number) + Password + Server (exact match).
- If your server doesn’t show up, add/scan servers.
Common gotchas
- Wrong server = instant “Invalid account.” Don’t guess the server.
- Portal password reset does not reset MT5 credentials.
- MT5 times are server time (can differ from your local time).
- If you copy/paste passwords, watch for invisible spaces at the end.
- Still stuck? Send support a screenshot of the MT5 login window + the server name you selected. (Fastest diagnosis.)
Example
You enter the right login/password but choose the wrong server → MT5 rejects it. Switch server to the one in your PropXP email → you’re in.
