Account security: protecting credentials & what support will never ask for

Severity Important

TL;DR

Your PropXP portal login and trading platform credentials are yours to protect. Support can help you recover access, but you should never share passwords in chat/email.

How it works

  • You’re responsible for credential hygiene: Terms are clear, keep your username/password confidential and notify PropXP if you suspect unauthorized access.
  • Portal password reset exists: “Forgot password” resets your PropXP portal login, not trading platform credentials.
  • Security-sensitive changes may require verification: e.g. changing your account email is handled by support and may require ownership verification.
  • What support will never ask for: Your password (portal or trading platform) to be sent to them in plain text. (If anyone asks, that’s not “support,” that’s a scam.)

Common gotchas

  • “I changed my portal password but MT5 still doesn’t work” = correct: they’re separate.
  • Losing access to the email you registered with is basically choosing hard mode. Keep it secure and accessible.
  • Don’t share accounts. Terms say the account is personal and can’t be shared.
  • If you suspect compromise: change portal password, review devices/sessions, and contact support immediately.

Example

You get a DM: “Hi, I’m support, send your MT5 password and I’ll fix invalid account.” That’s a scam. Real support will guide recovery/verification, not request passwords in plain text.
